Something is dying, and something is being birthed at the collective level. Can you feel it?
In this time of global existential risks, the world desperately needs people to look at it with a clear eye, and access the full range of their innate creativity. How can we remove the impediments and make more effective choices? How can we tend to all our selves in relation to others, the world, the planet with more care and compassion, and mutual generativity?
I imagine nearly everyone at least a modicum of this reassessment when we collectively experienced the global “STOP!” with the pandemic lockdowns. This jolted me into a period of profound disorientation and uneasiness, as I realized I could no longer take for granted that I know what is true. I couldn’t help but cringe at how loud, chaotic, and frenetic the world seemed. So much noise, not a lot of signal. So I stayed inside, and went inside. Like many, I asked myself the perennial questions that are difficult to answer – the ones that all boil down to “who am I?”, “where do I belong?” “what really matters to me?” and “what is uniquely mine to do?”
This period was one of deep inquiry into my worldview, belief systems, desired lifestyle, aligned with soul-level purpose, and with greater coherence. I designed a “back to basics” curriculum for myself, questioning everything I’d taken for granted. I’ve been through an extended “dark night,” and am emerging with a deep conviction to stay true to my north star, which is to fully embody who I am at the soul-level and what matters to me in this world. I work with people who are willing to dive into this deep inner realm of themselves. It is not for the faint of heart!
This is what led me into the field of coaching. I want to help others who have a passionate desire to shape a life that is a truer expression of their whole selves, and connect their gifts to all the big things in the world. Oftentimes, they have lived a successful life with many goals achieved and fruits borne from fulfilling their default purposes. They might say to themselves “good enough,” and that is not wrong. And yet, there is a nagging sense that there’s something more to open up into. Maybe it feels like restlessness. Or maybe it’s a yearning for more meaning, more beauty, and more aliveness. Or maybe they are more self-critical, feeling like they haven’t done enough, and would really like to feel more at ease with themselves.
“Finding the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet”* happens through claiming the unique constellation of gifts you have to offer, and going through the process of unblocking them. These gifts are innately creative, and when liberated, naturally flow in service to the world. I am drawn to working with anyone who decides that this is worth the work. Will you pick up the golden thread that runs through all your life experiences and let others see it? I am a commitment to seeing, protecting, and amplifying the beauty of your golden thread and its intricate weaving with that of others in the world. The shining of what makes you you, is my passion.
